Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages accounting services within department including budgets, financial reports and analysis.
- Develops financial models, projections, and forecasts for business management functions such as staffing levels, teaching costs, clinical service projections, affiliated hospital and managed care operations.
- Manages financial analysts. Works closely with the Accounting Supervisor and the rest of the Clinical Purchasing/Finance Team. Address higher-level issues as necessary. Ensures personnel stay up to date on university and department policy changes. Supervises staff by orienting, training, providing performance feedback, and coaching. Serves as mentor to direct reports and other related departmental positions
- Reviews and recommends operational policies/procedures.
- Reviews department’s agreements and contracts. Reviews invoices, accruals/reversals, and monthly reports. Prepares and presents pro formas and financial information in the pre-negotiation stage of contract agreements.
- Reviews and approves disbursements, budget adjustments, and journals on department funds in accordance with university and Pediatrics guidelines.
- Compiles data in preparation for the annual budget. Uses Adaptive reporting system to enter budget data and run reports for review with Executive Director and Director of Finance.
- Assists analysts with payroll costing allocations and adjustments, and assists divisions with determining appropriate sourcing for faculty, staff, and fellows within guidelines. Reviews default report and monthly payroll reports to ensure accuracy of payroll.
- Provides backup for Director of Finance, Supervisor Accounting, and staff, as needed.
- Ability to work independently to meet project deadlines and preserve confidential information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

$58,400.00 - $99,700.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
