Job Description
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
- Performing visual acuity screenings
- Taking ocular measurements, both anatomical and functional
- Preform a variety of Ophthalmic testingJOB IS FROM: partimejobs.netVIEW
- Gathering cataract measurements
- Administering or preparing ocular medications
- Refractometry (measurements for the glasses prescription using the auto refractor)
- Providing eye care and contact lens information to the patient
- Maintaining and cleaning ophthalmic instruments
- Assisting the ophthalmologist in basic procedures
- Obtaining prior authorizations for in office and ambulatory surgical procedures
- Scheduling appointments
- Clarify pre-op and post op instructions with patients
- Processing pharmacy requests, patient phone calls, and provider messages appropriately
- Stocking and maintains examination rooms
- Perform retinal photographs utilizing a Digital Retinal Camera.
- Performs clinical skills following procedural guidelines
- Adheres to infection control safety and OSHA guidelines
- Stocks and maintains examination rooms, and medical supplies
Required Qualifications:
- COA (Certified Ophthalmic Assistant) Certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of prior Ophthalmology experience required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathetic personality giving attention to patient’s needs and concerns
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work as a team member
- Flexibility to travel to other sites when needed
- Computer literacy and fast learner
Pay Range $23/hr to $28/hr
The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
