What you get to do:
You’ll prepare high quality food that meets SeaWorld standards by following menu specifications. You will follow all safety and HACCP guidelines, use proper protective gear, and test food temperatures. You will also:
- Oversee final prepared food quality
- Utilize advanced and non-automated kitchen equipment, including open flame char grill, smokers, steam kettles, woks and large bakery machinery
- Keep all assigned areas clean and sanitary
- Incorporate knowledge of top eight allergens into the preparation of dietary meals
- Interact with Ambassadors and guests and deliver excellent service
- Perform other duties as assigned
What it takes to succeed:

- Ability to work with all food types, including food allergens, in any dining facility
- Prior experience is a plus: At least one year of cooking experience or a combination of cooking experience and culinary school
- Basic knife skills
- Ability to pass SafeStaff training and RCS Responsible Vendor Training (alcohol)
- Ability to train on and use protective gear and kitchen equipment
- Ability to multi task in a fast-paced, high-production environment
- Ability to prepare special dietary meals
- Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests
- Valid state driver's license preferred
- In-depth food safety and allergen knowledge a plus
- Perform other duties as assigned
What else is important:
- Able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed
- Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
- Able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors and cold/heat temperature extremes Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals
- Work a flexible schedule/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays
- Flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities
Compensation: 16.50 USD Hourly
