Please note the job posting displays the full-time salary amount. However, this is a part-time position, and the salary will be prorated based on a 20-hour per week work schedule. Leave accrual and insurance rates will be adjusted proportionally for part-time employees.
The Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC) oversees access to alcohol and cannabis products in Oregon through education, regulation, and distilled spirits distribution. Our aim is to protect public health and safety while supporting responsible businesses and providing funding for local and state agencies.
The agency is comprised of three major operational programs: the Distilled Spirits Program, the Recreational Marijuana Program, and the Public Safety Program. Revenue generated from these programs helps support state and local government programs.
This position is with the Public Safety Program which licenses and regulates businesses in both the marijuana and alcohol industry. This includes manufacturers, wholesalers, bars, restaurants, grocery, convenience stores and the operation of the recreational marijuana industry in Oregon.

About this opportunity:
After an initial training period, this position may be eligible for a flexible hybrid work schedule, however weekly in-office work will be required. This position is not eligible to be fully remote.
This position is represented by the American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME) union.
This position will serve a six-month trial service period, equivalent to 1,040 hours for a half-time employee.
Here’s what you will do:
As an Administrative Assistant, you will act as the primary office support and communication hub for the Public Safety Division. Duties include:
Collecting, dispensing and recording information to and from inspectors
Reporting information in various spreadsheets and databases
Responding to inquiries from public, industry and agency personnel, either by telephone, corresponding or in-person contact
Maintaining the regional file systems and regularly reviewing for improvement and increased efficiency
Assessing need for regional office supplies and reordering needed supplies on a regular basis to maintain adequate inventory

Minimum Qualifications
Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents
OR
An associate degree in any field
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Skills
Self-starter, ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
Ability to communicate with the public and possess good customer service skills
Ability to adapt to changing office environments
Ability to adapt to new and changing computer applications
