Fairview Hospital’s Birthing Center cares for all types of pregnancies and encompasses 13 labor/delivery/recovery rooms (LDRs), three operating rooms, a 3-bed recovery room, one inpatient room, and one triage room. As a Unit Support Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment, transporting patients, maintaining established levels of supplies and completing errands. Working alongside a collaborative and supportive team, you will have opportunities to develop new skills and find your place at Cleveland Clinic.
A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM - 7:00AM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Maintain and clean equipment as requested by Registered Nurse.
- Perform other transportation functions as required including delivery of patient specimens, medical records, and patient care equipment.
- Collaborate with members of the health care team to promote patient care delivery and overall unit functioning.
- Maintain, clean, and adjust department's equipment including wheelchairs as needed.
- Keep patient areas neat and uncluttered.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma or GED

- Healthcare experience.

Physical Requirements:
- Full range of body motion for handling and frequent patient lifting, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination
- Frequent standing, walking, bending/stooping, kneeling, reaching and squatting
- Corrected vision and hearing to normal range
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
