We are seeking a Compliance Officer to join us in a part-time capacity for 30hours/week within our Bunnings Product Risk & Compliance Team.
About the Role.
The Compliance Officer – Hazardous Chemicals will provide project support and ongoing assistance with the business’ operational hazardous chemicals risk management framework, including dangerous goods network compliance monitoring, dangerous goods site license applications, maps and related emergency information documents, mandatory chemical / chemical related product standards, analysis of legislation and policy impact, investigations of site and off site (customer) hazardous chemical incidents.
Reporting to the Product Compliance Manager – Hazardous Chemicals, this role is based at the Bunnings Support Office Rivervale, WA. We offer a supportive and collaborative culture and the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment.
What's involved.
- Assisting in the maintenance of Dangerous Goods storage & handling compliance program across the AU/NZ network
- Conduct control assessments to ensure the adequacy of Dangerous Goods standards across the network
- Providing project support to execute key dangerous goods product risk programs or activities, including communicating with internal and external stakeholders
- Providing general guidance and advice to stores and other Bunnings functions in relation to hazardous chemical compliance matters.
Who we’re looking for:
This role would suit a tertiary graduate/student of a relevant field, or someone with experience in a related risk, environmental or data analytics who is keen to apply their knowledge and gain practical experience in a fast paced, multisite retail environment. You will additionally possess a passion to champion safety, compliance and continuous improvement across the Risk & Compliance space.
Our ideal candidate must be eager to learn, with highly developed written, verbal communication and analytical skills. A high attention to detail is essential, as well as skills in the use of MS Office, especially Excel.
You’ll need:
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex data and regulation/standards and enjoy working with data overall
- Capability in problem solving
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Possess a strong commitment to customer service.
