Job Description:
Under the direction of the Chair, Community Studies, Part-Time Professors/Instructors are responsible for facilitating and guiding learning and providing an effective learning environment for all students. The professional responsibilities include the teaching of assigned courses, plus:
delivery of regularly scheduled instruction in the Winter, Fall or Summer terms.
providing a learning environment which makes effective use of available resources including educational technologies and the College approved Learning Management System.
evaluating student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the student’s work within assigned courses.
the development and creation of a learning environment that is conducive to success for all students.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Disabilities Studies or related field of study. For instructor positions a diploma in Developmental Services Worker or related field of study is required.
Minimum two (2) years of teaching experience, or equivalent, preferably in a college setting.
Minimum three (3) years direct work experience with individuals who have developmental disabilities in both community and school based settings.
Demonstrated knowledge of student success strategies in a postsecondary setting.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of educational technologies; experience in the development and delivery of hybrid and online curriculum is considered an asset.
Highly effective communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

Evidence of commitment to the success of all learners.
Have flexibility to teach during the day and evenings from Monday to Friday.
