Summary of Duties
As an employee working within the Child Welfare Program, you will have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oregon’s most vulnerable children and families. As a Certification Technician, you will:
Support certification and adoption teams by updating and maintaining a high level of accuracy in OR-Kids records, for home providers and case information.
Maintain up-to-date foster parent training records, home provider information, and other case information.
Collaborate with the placement coordinator to ensure all services are available and certificates are current.
Prepare and distribute certification and adoption packets, as well as foster parent training materials, responding to requests for scanning and copying documents, and sending reference letters to foster families as needed.
Scan and upload certification packets and other relevant documents into the OR-Kids database for foster provider and adoption/guardianship files.
Ensure all activities comply with State and Federal laws, including conducting Child Welfare checks, criminal checks, and police record checks.
Minimum Qualifications
A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR
An associate degree in any field; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions
Your work will be conducted in the office, this is not a remote position.
Occasional travel is required for attending meetings, trainings, and other position related activities.
Employee will work a professional work week; hours of work may fluctuate based on service needs.
Occasional, compensated overtime may be required, including evening and weekend work.
You will interact with a diverse range of individuals, including those who have experienced trauma and may struggle with emotional regulation.
This position requires sitting or standing at a terminal and using a computer and telephone for prolonged periods of the workday.

The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship.
