Job Description Summary
The Quartermaster orders, maintains the inventory, and issues equipment and uniforms for Broward College Public Safety. The job requires attention to detail and knowledge of college and department purchasing policies and procedures. Maintains key boxes and key sets for the department.-----------
This position allows eligible veterans and their spouses to claim Veterans’ Preference pursuant to Florida Statute 295. Minimum Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum Experience/Training
- Two or more years of relevant experience at the semi-skilled or greater level required in a warehouse or inventory management role preferred.
Minimum Certification/Licenses:
- A valid Florida Driver’s License is required or, as a condition of continued employment, a valid Florida Driver’s License within 30 days after beginning employment with the College.
- Travel between campuses is expected as needed to fulfill these functions.
Essential Functions:
- Daily -10%: Purchases, maintains the inventory, and issues supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
- Daily -20%: Maintain equipment cage area clean and organized.
- Daily -10%: Maintain communication with equipment vendors regarding future and current orders.
- Daily -10%: Maintains records, logs, and documentation of purchases, costs, deliveries, quality control, and current inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Daily -10%: Maintains records, logs, and a database of equipment, supplies, uniforms, and related items issued to individual department members.
- Daily – 10%: Maintains and monitors key boxes and keys for the department.
- Daily -2%: Coordinates and documents disposal of outdated or broken equipment.
- Daily -3%: Prepares, documents, and files damage and/or restitution claims for department equipment and uniforms.
- Daily -10% Reviews and approves invoices for payment. Maintains confidentiality of information and records.
- Daily -10%: Assist with Training Manager Sergeant projects/tasks or events.
- Other - 5%: Performs related duties as assigned.

- Methods, procedures, and objectives of inventory control, including but not limited to price research, ordering, receiving, and disbursing.
- College and department policies and procedures.
- Basic equipment, supplies, uniforms, and related items required by the department.
- Record keeping and database methods and objectives.
- Customer service methods, techniques, and objectives.
- Operation of office equipment, including personal computers and job-related software applications.
- Federal regulations and College policies regarding safe work practices.
- Must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds with assistance
