Various Respiratory Therapist schedule options available including Full-Time, Part-Time FTE roles, and also PRN.  No pediatric work experience is required. The Children’s Respiratory Care team provides a robust orientation and education process for all new hires.   JOB IS FROM: partimejobs.netVIEW

  • Experienced RCPs (at least 2 years RCP work experience) are eligible for up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus for FTE .9 Nights.  Pro-rated if lower FTE and/or shift other than Nights.

  • Newer RCPs are also eligible for sign-on bonuses of adjusted dollar amount. 

*If you are curious about working at Children's Wisconsin and trying out pediatrics, but already hold an FTE role elsewhere, and/or are not quite ready to make a full leap into Children’s, please know you can instead consider a PRN role which has flexible schedule tier options.   A Respiratory PRN role typically requires at least 1 year of prior RCP work experience. 

  • Respiratory Therapist PRN hires that love their time at Children’s and transition into an FTE role within 6 months of hire will maintain eligibility for the above noted sign-on bonus typically only available for new hires. 
The Respiratory Therapist applies scientific knowledge, technical expertise and theory to practical clinical problems and is often required to exercise clinical judgment. Provides therapeutic, diagnostic, consultative and supportive services for neonatal through adult patients and their families. Actively participates in resuscitative and emergent situations. Functions within professional and hospital standards.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the State of Wisconsin.
  • National Board of Respiratory Care credentialing of CRT required.
  • RRT strongly preferred before start date for experienced Respiratory therapists.
  • Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required
  • Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program with a minimum of an Associate's Degree is required.
  • Clinical experience in hospital or home care is preferred.
  • PALS required within 6 months of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 3 months.
  • Possesses rudimentary assessment and basic analytical skills in order to perform limited patient observations.
  • Requires interpersonal skills which involve collaborating with peers, supervisors and medical staff. Understands role of performing delegated tasks.
  • Prefer experience with computer skills. Ability to stand and walk for up to eighty percent of work time when performing job assignments.
  • FTE .9 Nights. 12 hour shifts and every 3rd weekend rotation. (or FTE .6 may also be option)
  • Competitive salary & benefits package. For Night shift FTE roles - in addition to standard shift differentials also has extra additional up to $4.00 per hour NIGHT SHIFT Bonus program
