The EEG Monitoring Technician performs duties that assist the EEG Technologists and communicates with providers and nursing staff as needed regarding patient observations and safety concerns. This role will assist with electroencephalograph tests, with the knowledge and ability to collect, assess, and intervene as appropriate in the care of pediatric, adult, geriatric, and critical care patients once competencies are evaluated. This position may also serve as a clinical resource to Neurology.
What you will do as an EEG Monitoring Technician:
- Monitors EEG recordings and video, maintain electrode recording quality and document evoked responses from patient
- Operates equipment to record electrical activity of the brain during the procedure
- Supervises patient respiration, heart, and brain activity during procedure
- Assists other team members with preparation of patients, patient rooms and equipment for EEG procedure
- Assures availability and accurate function of supplies and equipment
- Cleans, replenishes, and maintains instruments and supplies as needed
What you will need:
- BLS Certification
- Ability to work evening, overnight and weekend shifts as determined by department needs
- Ability to work at multiple job sites as determined by department needs
Location: UMMC, East Bank - 500 SE Harvard St. Minneapolis, MN 55414
Hours: 10 hours/week, 11:30 AM - 10:00 PM alternating biweekly between a Saturday and a weekday (Tues, Thursday or Friday).
