Title: Contract Specialist

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The incumbent in this role will be tasked with the creation, negotiation, and execution of Single Patient Agreements between payors and DaVita facilities, adhering to DaVita's established guidelines and parameters. A comprehensive understanding of the Revenue Cycle is essential, enabling team members to leverage their expertise and experience in crafting agreements that meet the approval of both the payor and DaVita.

The ideal candidate will possess previous experience in negotiating managed care contracts, conducting contract reviews, and exhibit proficiency in written and verbal communication, as well as analytical skills. They should be adept at quick learning, critical thinking, working independently when necessary, and effectively prioritizing tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of contract terms and rate structures. Review patient notes, historical system data, claims analyses, and validate benefits and eligibility. Foster collaboration across various intra-departmental teams and ROPs to ensure the acquisition of precise information crucial for complete agreement execution.
  • Leverage influencing skills to facilitate consensus on terms and rates for Single Patient Agreements. Consistently meet and uphold production targets while adeptly managing client relationships. Ensure quality assurance and approval of agreements as required

  • Address inquiries regarding Single Patient Agreements from both internal and external stakeholders, employing relevant knowledge and resources thoughtfully. Evaluate and research agreement language when necessary, alongside reviewing patient benefit information as appropriate
  • Engage in internal and external meetings and committees as required to resolve issues related to Single Patient Agreements within stringent deadlines and departmental service level agreements (SLAs), operating within a time-sensitive and resource-constrained project environment
  • Provide recommendations and contribute to improve system policies, procedures, and performance; know, understand, and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures
  • Consistent, regular, punctual attendance as scheduled is an essential responsibility of this position; all other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 1+ years of relevant experience in contract administration, sales, collections, or field that requires tenacity and follow-up                             
  • High School Diploma required
  • Proven ability to be successful in an autonomous work environment

Salary/ Wage Range

$20.43 - $30.00 / hour

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
