Position Description:

The Department of Education Leadership, Evaluation, & Organizational Development (LEAD) invites applications for Part-time Lecturer (PTL) teaching positions in the following program areas:

  • Programs in Educational Leadership

  • Programs in Organizational Leadership & Learning

  • Program in Career & Technical Education

  • Program in Human Resource & Organizational Development

  • Programs in Healthcare Leadership (delivered in a Competency-Based Education format)

  • Programs in Higher Education Administration

  • Program in evaluation offer courses in a range of modalities beyond traditional settings, including blended and online formats.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Master’s required for undergraduate courses, but an earned doctorate is preferred.

  • Doctorate is required for graduate courses.

  • Highest graduate degree must be in the field of study or a closely related field with clear justifications on qualifications. 

  • Prior teaching experience is also preferred.

Overview of the University

The University of Louisville is a state supported research university located in Kentucky's largest metropolitan area. It was a municipally supported public institution for many decades prior to joining the university system in 1970. The University has three campuses. The 287-acre Belknap Campus is three miles from downtown Louisville and houses 7 of the university's 12 colleges and schools. The Health Sciences Center is situated in downtown Louisville's medical complex and houses the university's health related programs and the University of Louisville Hospital. The 243-acre Shelbyhurst Campus is located in eastern Jefferson County.

Statement

Instructors are expected to submit course syllabus, order textbooks or other reading materials, provide developmentally meaningful feedback, present engaging learning experiences, respond to students in a timely manner, communicate regularly with designated academic program director, maintain collegial and respectful relations with members of the UofL community and external stakeholders, and submit course data (e.g., Hallmark Assessment Tasks, midterm progress reports) and final grades within university deadlines, and comply with other requests as a part-time lecturer such as completing an attestation disclosure form.

Salary: Salary based on a per credit hour value
