Summary
Barry University's Center for Counseling and Psychological Services is seeking a part-time Staff Psychologist.
The person in this role will provide mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and counseling-related services with the goal of helping University students establish a plan to develop positive mental health practices, set and reach personal goals, and improve their quality of life. This position will also provide training and supervision for two doctoral level practicum students and a post-doctoral fellow.
This is an In-Person position
Essential Functions
Clinical responsibilities:
Conducts weekly intakes
Provides short-term individual, couple, and group counseling to students presenting with developmental, psychiatric, and academic concerns
Provides triage coverage and crisis intervention, including occasional after-hours crisis response
Provides case management as needed
Provides consultation to faculty, staff, and third-party stakeholders (e.g., responding to distressed students)
Supervision:
Provides weekly clinical supervision and training to advanced doctoral level practicum trainees and post-doctoral fellow
Administrative Responsibilities:
Attends all staff meetings, one-on-one meetings, clinical team meetings, and other Divisional and University meetings as scheduled
Schedules appointments using Titanium Schedule
Completes clinical notes in a timely manner using Titanium Schedule
Follows centers policies and procedures consistent with state mental health statutes, ethical guidelines, best practices, HIPAA, and FERPA.
Outreach responsibilities:
Provides wellness workshops and other educational outreach activities to the campus community (some afterhours)
Participates in campus-wide events and activities
Qualifications/Requirements
Doctoral degree is required in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology
Must be Licensed in Florida as a psychologist.
3-5 years of work-related experience is required
Clinical note writing and email correspondence
