Position Description:

The Philosophy Department seeks part-time lecturers for courses at various levels across the curriculum, principally introductory courses and courses in applied ethics and critical thinking.

Both distance ed and in-person courses may be available. Instructor must use Blackboard to post syllabi and other required materials. Instructor will be responsible for selection of specific topics, readings, and assignments, ordering textbooks as needed, preparing and delivering instructional content. Instructor must provide students with developmentally meaningful feedback in a timely manner, submit grades within university deadlines, and communicate with both students and academic program director in a timely manner as needed. Further, candidates should be prepared to meet the department’s commitment to integrate the contributions of all into every course.

MA in Philosophy required (PhD preferred). At least one year of teaching experience (as TA or independent instructor) required; experience as independent instructor strongly preferred.

Starting pay rate based on highest degree attained and experience, ranging from $3318 - $4180 per 3-credit course. Potential for promotion & concomitant raises in future.
