Summary :
The Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Technician aids physicians in diagnosis and treatment of heart, lung, and blood vessel disorders by conducting non-invasive diagnostic tests of cardiovascular systems. Maintains equipment. Records test results.Job Description:
This position will support both the Appleton and Neenah campus locations.
SCHEDULE:
DAY SHIFT: 5:30-2p or 8-4:30p (will rotate between shifts)
Mix of 6 and 8 hour shifts
On- Call 7-3p every 4-5th weekend
On-Call holiday rotation 7-3p
Call expectation of a 30 minute response time
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Applies knowledge of cardiac procedures to assess, educate, and prepare patients for stress tests, and monitors the patient throughout the procedure. Applies and explains holter and cardiac event monitoring devices to patients.
2. Performs EKG tests. Manages EKG flow of information from order through Muse and into EPIC.
3. Evaluates data to improve service quality and patient care. Exemplifies quality care by anticipating and intervening in areas of patient safety.
4. Applies knowledge and critical thinking to analyze patient EKG rhythms. Summarizes findings for physician review, and responds to urgent, high-risk results to expedite patient treatment.
5. Completes documentation on time and accurately using current technology. 6. Respectfully addresses situations or decisions to ensure patient’s concerns or needs are met. Demonstrates professional and therapeutic relationship with patients, families, and providers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or GED
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance
• Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Climate controlled clinical setting with daily movement throughout the facility • Interaction with department members and other healthcare providers
• Frequent sitting with movement throughout the work space
• Occasional high noise level in work environment
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents
• Occasional contact with aggressive and or combative patients
• Use of computers throughout the work day
• Frequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingers
