SUMMARY:

The Director, HR Technology is responsible for defining the long-term strategy and roadmap for specific technical domains related to Workday Payroll, Time Keeping, and Benefits. It serves as a functional liaison between HR IT and Human Resources ensuring the end-to-end process solution meets business, global and strategic requirements.  In addition, the Director, HR Technology is responsible for managing, coaching, and developing a team of HR IT technical specialists and/or engineers.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Defines, develops, and executes the HR Technology strategy and tactics for assigned human resources domains.

  • Oversee HR technology domains including Workday Payroll, Benefits, Time Keeping, and related Third-Party Systems. Leads system integrations or system enhancement efforts.

  • Collaborates with the COEs to ensure that HR systems support new processes/changes to provide the optimal team member experience.

  • Stays up to date on new HR technology and complimentary solutions to support the business.

  • Maintains a global mindset when providing solutions with a focus on a positive team member experience.

  • Consults with executive business leaders and provides recommendations on HR technology strategies and ensuing tactics.

  • Exhibits superior stakeholder management; Interacts frequently with internal and external functional leaders, which may include HR, Finance, Accounting, Audit, Benefits, Legal, Payroll team members and vendors to determine strategic needs, as well as, support day to day processing and oversight.

  • Work directly with the HR, Benefits, Payroll, Accounting/Finance, IT teams to provide data integrity, consistency, and oversight.

  • Develops recommendations for process improvements related to data utilization and maintenance.

  • Oversees testing of the system, along with managing deployment and testing of system releases and enhancements.

  • Provides system/project updates to stakeholders.   

  • Maintains appropriate issue/project/enhancement tracking and manages issue resolution process.

  • Manage, coach, develop, and provide direction to assigned staff (including remote management).

  • Guides Tier 2 Specialists to resolve complex technical issues raised by team members.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires deep understanding in fields such as human resources, computer science, information technology or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a post-graduate (MBA/Master’s) Degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education.

  • Normally requires a minimum of twelve (12) years of directly related and progressively responsible experience; prior HR Technology experience required.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Preferred Qualifications: MBA or master’s degree in directly related field; at least ten (10) or more years directly related experience; at least five (5) years of experience with human resources information systems (HRIS); at least five (5) years of experience in direct people management.

  • Extensive Global Workday experience - required

  • Demonstrated experience in designing/developing enterprise and global strategies for technology domains with demonstrated consultative skills and ability to effectively facilitate groups to consensus.

  • Ability to present and discuss strategies and technical information in a manner that establishes rapport, persuades others, and establishes understanding for technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Workday experience required, and well as, a deep understanding and application in the domains of Payroll, Time keeping, and Benefits (both in-source and outsourced capabilities).

  • Deep understanding of HR business functions/end-to end processes, strategic imperatives, and project management.  Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques in a highly complex environment using leading-edge technology.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in support of our global population. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and collaborative skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to manage remote and global team members while developing, coaching, and increasing team capability, output, and performance.
