The Correctional Services team is seeking a dynamic and motivated professional to lead improvements in program delivery, streamline operations, and strengthen accountability across the division.
About the Job – Your Role
In this role, you will be instrumental in optimizing program delivery, driving operational efficiencies, and ensuring consistency and accountability across the division. You will provide in-depth policy analysis, offer strategic recommendations for budget development and financial planning, oversee project management, and offer comprehensive support to the Assistant Director of Correctional Services and division administrators. Additionally, you will coordinate key management activities and supervise several major administrative programs and operations.
You will provide expert policy analysis and support for fiscal policy, program design, program operations, process improvement, performance measurement, grants management, and legislative policy development. You will be managing and coordinating policy initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational goals and statewide strategies, reviewing and analyzing division policies to ensure a system-wide approach to implementation, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to maintain effective operations and service delivery.
Additionally, you will assist in the development and execution of strategic initiatives to improve program efficiency and effectiveness, ensure alignment of division policies with statewide goals and objectives, and support interagency and community relations to enhance service delivery and program impact.
This position is management services and may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and five (5) years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.
OR;
Any combination of experience and education equivalent to eight (8) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.
Requested Skills
- Experience in policy development and analysis, program administration, or operational strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct data-driven policy analysis and present findings to leadership teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of successfully implementing policy improvements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
- Experience in legislative policy development and grants management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and organizational objectives.
- Experience with budget and spending plan development to include risk analysis and mitigation techniques.

The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect an additional 6.95%.

About the Process – What to Expect

Requirements for Employment
The successful candidate for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, there may be some felony convictions that could disqualify you for this position.
