JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State York invites applications for an adjunct (part-time) faculty appointment to teach a general education Kinesiology course in Fly Fishing.

 

Job Duties

  • Teach an entry level general education course in fly fishing.
  • Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is expected.
  • Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is a required advantage.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important.

 

Requirements and Qualifications

This position will be filled as an adjunct lecturer (part-time instructor). 

  • A minimum of a master’s degree in one of the following disciplines is required: Wildlife and fisheries, ecology, environmental science or a related field.  A candidate with a bachelor’s degree in these fields with a supreme track record in the fly-fishing industry may be considered.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with specific expertise in the techniques of fly fishing, stream ecology, knowledge of excellent fishing areas of York and Lancaster County and a record of providing classes and guided experiences in fly fishing.  
  • The successful applicant will have demonstrated commitment and advocacy for diversity in the workplace.
