Position Summary

The Department of Finance, Economics, Marketing, and Accounting, in the College of Business, Economics, and Technology at the National University invites applications for

part-time faculty in Quantitative Methods in Business. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of or potential for excellence in teaching in their field and a commitment to serving the university’s diverse adult student body. The successful candidate will have the potential for a commitment to serving the university’s diverse adult student body. This position primarily works closely with the Academic Program Director and other faculty within the program and contributes to ensuring program quality, student engagement, and success.

Essential Job Duties:

• Lead classroom sessions onsite in San Diego.
• Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
• Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
• Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.)
• Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
• Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
• Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.

Requirements

Education and Experience

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in economics, accounting, finance, or any other business degree with a quantitative certificate from a regionally accredited institution.
• 3+ years of direct teaching experience at the undergraduate level in business math, business statistics, management science, or business analytics (introductory and intermediate level).
• Ability to teach using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, Solver, Tableau, and large datasets.
• Experience with the online delivery modality of higher education.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Curriculum development experience.
• Experience working as a remote employee.
• 5 years of field experience in economics, accounting, finance, or other quantitative business fields required, administrative or command experience.

Compensation Range:

Hourly: $26.63 - $28.89

Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies.  Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position.
