This is an on-call position, which means it is a part-time, hourly role (schedule/hours will be discussed later in the hiring process). The pay range for this position $32.29 - 42.78/hour and is eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver’s 457b retirement plan. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits. On‐call positions may have routine or variable work schedules.

Location

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

The Administration Division within the Department of General Services is seeking a part-time Contract Administrator to support contract management and operational excellence. This role reports directly to the Director of Administration and plays a key part in driving efficiency and compliance within city operations.

While this is not a supervisory position, the ideal candidate will bring a high degree of professional work ethic, strong attention to detail and the ability to influence policy and operational improvements.

Specifically, as a Contract Administrator you will:

  • Oversee contracts related to the towing and disposal of abandoned recreational vehicles (RVs) stored at the city vehicle impound facility or other locations as needed

  • Work with other city agencies to ensure the proper evacuation of vehicle fluids and/or refrigerants, track the RV inventory, and be the point of contact with the contracted vendors to issue work orders and answer questions

  • Review and approve invoices for vehicle towing/disposal and submit those according to department procedures

  • Work with department leadership on developing monthly reports to track costs, the number of vehicles disposed per month, and other record keeping necessary to establish an accurate budget in future years

  • Monitor and prepare financial and budget reports when requested

  • Resolve issues of RV inventory inflow/outflow by working with Denver Sheriff Department staff and contractors

  • Develop written policies and procedures around contract management for the program and utilize process improvement tools to make recommendations to streamline the program

  • Develop and maintain training documents for key position tasks/responsibilities

  • Work with department management and other city agency staff to develop a scope of work for future requests for proposal

  • Oversee and ensure compliance with City and County of Denver rules and regulations

  • Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with other CCD staff, outside vendors, city agencies, and other stakeholders to gain their cooperation, support, and approvals

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, Management, or a related field.

  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of professional experience performing contract negotiation, contract administration, or conducting research and analysis in an area such as budget, compliance issues, or accounting.

  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.

  • License/Certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.

  • Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
