Job Description
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is a vital member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team. The SLP will provide speech-language pathology services to residents of our skilled nursing facility.
Our team is looking to hire a Part-time or PRN SLP, please apply if you are interested in either.
Wage Range: $55-$60 per hour based on experience.
Responsibilities:
● Initial Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive initial evaluations to assess residents' communication, swallowing, and cognitive-linguistic skills.
● Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating evidence-based practices to address residents' specific needs and goals.
● Direct Patient Care: Provide direct one-on-one and group therapy sessions to improve speech articulation, language comprehension, swallowing function, and cognitive-communication skills.
● Therapeutic Interventions: Utilize various therapeutic techniques and modalities, such as:
- Speech and language therapy
- Swallowing therapy
- Cognitive-communication therapy
- Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
● Discharge Planning: Develop comprehensive discharge plans, including recommendations for continued therapy services, assistive devices, and community resources.
● Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
● Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, to ensure coordinated and effective care.
● Compliance: Adhere to all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, Medicare, and state licensing boards.
Qualifications:
● Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
● Current Speech-Language Pathology licensure in the state of [State]
● Strong clinical skills and knowledge of speech-language pathology principles and practices
