Position Description:
The School of Public Health and Information Sciences is seeking candidates for a temporary, part-time lecturer (PTL) to teach undergraduate course(s) for summer 2025.
PHPH-101: Introduction to Public Health
Description: This 3 credit hour course provides an introduction into the broad and impactful discipline of public health, discussing its history, its practice, the science of epidemiology, determinates of health and disease, social justice, and health equity.
PHPB-301: Health Equity
Description: This course provides students the opportunity to explore factors that contribute to an individual’s ability to achieve good health. Understanding health disparities involves a critical analysis of circumstances that produce differences in health outcomes among groups.
Desired Qualifications:
Master's degree, at least 3 years of public health student academic advising experience, at least one semester of classroom teaching experience and excellent communication skills. Preferred qualifications include skill in providing quality instruction and support to a diverse student body and ability to use different technologies to enhance student learning.
