Position Summary;
As part of the Family Case Management program, this internship is designed to expose graduate level students to a variety of direct practice, quality improvement, and leadership development activities while completing a required Masters in Social Work graduate program. Under direction of a Family Case Management and/or Family Support Supervisor, this position will perform child welfare tasks for which he/she has been trained and has demonstrated competency.
Position Requirements:
- Enrolled in a certified Masters of Social Work graduate degree program.
- Maintain good standing and complete all related graduate program work and responsibilities at the sponsoring university.
- Willingness to engage families of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds strongly preferred.
- Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, personal liability insurance coverage and the ability to be insured by the CHW auto insurance carrier.
- Knowledge of case management techniques, including awareness of fiscal resource management related to services.
- Knowledge of child development stages and issues confronted by the families within the child welfare system. Knowledge of interviewing techniques.
- Ability to work with diverse groups in a culturally competent manner.
- Demonstrated ability to organize information in a systematic method by utilizing management information systems and skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
