Job Summary:
Leads IT Project Management team to implement IT projects that deliver operational value. Provides leadership and direction to develop, support and continually improve IT PMO standards. Leverages dashboards and reports to communicate IT project portfolio health transparently. Builds and maintains strong customer-centric relationships with IT and external leaders.
Position Responsibilities:
Direct the development, implementation, adoption and continuous improvement of IT Project Management standards, approaches, templates and tools. Communicates project portfolio health (scope, schedule, financial, resource) utilizing PPM dashboards and reports.
Manage the IT Project Management team to ensure adherence to PMO standards. Ensure that project scope assessment and budget development is completed timely utilizing appropriate templates. Provides guidance and supports the team in following standard project practices for planning, initiating, executing, communicating, status reporting, managing risks, issues and decisions. This includes resource and budget management, Go-Live planning and post-live project closure activities. Serve as an escalation point for project issues, risks and roadblocks.
Balances assigning discretionary and required projects based on governance priorities and compliance/regulatory/vendor support deadlines. Continues to manage projects or programs themselves.
Builds strong, collaborative, customer-centric relationships with other Managers within and outside of Information Technology. Ensures regular and standard internal and external stakeholder communication.
Provides leadership and guidance, coaches, trains, develops and holds accountable IT Project Managers. Creates commitment and ownership within team by encouraging autonomy, recognizing achievements, setting goals, and delegating with clear expectations.
Works constructively with vendors to ensure on-going service and resolution of issues. Participates in vendor contract review and negotiation.
Manages budget as it relates to area of responsibility, which includes annual operating budget development, processing of invoices, requisitions and purchase orders.
Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:
10 or more years of experience in IT industry. 5+ years of Project Management experience. Prior management experience preferred. Specialized, progressive experience in program and/or project management for complex IT programs/projects which includes project plan development, project schedule management, risk management, financial management, resource & staffing management. Demonstrated experience delivering measurable business benefit through project execution. Must have proven experience managing project teams as well as proven customer relations management skills which include exceptional customer service, excellent verbal and written communication skills & relationship-building skills. Additional Key Skills: Exceptional leadership skills along with a high degree of political sensitivity & astuteness; strong business acumen; strong self-awareness, social confidence and tenacity; polished and persuasive communicator. Must be able to manage with ambiguity and multiple priorities in a busy decentralized multi-entity environment. Must be an excellent role model and service provider with a commitment to quality. Healthcare experience preferred. Able to work 24 hours, 7 days/week. On –call support as required.
Proficient with MS Teams and MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
Required Education:
BA/BS in Information Systems or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Training/Certifications/Licensure:
PMP certification required. PgMP certification strongly preferred. LEAN-Six Sigma certification preferred.
