​Job Description: 

Position Summary:

Performs all aspects of a CT exam as ordered by a physician and produces accurate and complete records upon its conclusion. Provides compassion and comfort to all patients throughout their exam.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

§ Reviews patient medical information and reconciles physician requests with exams ordered

§ Completes essential documentation such as consents and questionnaires prior to beginning patients exam

§ Performs exams in CT including trauma, orthopedic, fluoroscopic, contrast exams and invasive procedures

§ Inspects all images performed for quality and proper documentation. Presents completed images to Radiologist for interpretation

§ Assists Radiologist with invasive procedures as required

§ Prepares and administers IV, oral and rectal contrast as indicated by protocol

§ Assists supervisor in teaching and/or monitoring new personnel

§ Practices radiation safety by adhering to ALARA guidelines

§ Uses patient safety equipment effectively to move patients. Utilizes lead shields and aprons when appropriate

§ Communicates effectively with others within the department as well as outside of the department
