Job Summary
The RN Admissions Coordinator performs services and functions related to managing patient access and hospital capacity. This includes, but is not limited to, receiving requests for admissions and working with the nursing units and leaders to identify the best available bed placement based upon patient needs, level of care requirements, and infection control principles; proactive management of admission requests and managing of timely turnaround of patient beds; communicate capacity issues and resolution to nursing, physician leadership, and administration.Pay Range
Minimum $52.93 Midpoint $70.13 Maximum $87.32Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience
* Required: Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an inpatient care setting.
* Preferred: Five (5) years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an inpatient care setting. Previous Pre-Admission RN or Case Management experience preferred.
Education
* Required: Graduation from an accredited school of Registered Nursing; Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) (effective on all offers made after November 1, 2015).

* Required: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, able to quickly prioritize/triage work assignments. Ability to set goals and judge results in accordance with the highest standards; care with sensitivity and respect; advance care through development of new ideas and technology; promote teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission; and understand and exceed customer expectations. Analytical skills and abilities to assess hospital capability, service options, resolve problems, determine patient needs, understand third-party payor regulations and identify options to meet patient's needs. Intermediate computer, spreadsheet, & database skills. Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate and negotiate with all levels of hospital personnel, physicians, third party payors, patient/families and outside agencies. Ability to resolve conflict, including situations where there may be conflicting priorities. Clinical assessment skills and knowledge to evaluate patient care needs. Ability to prioritize and complete duties in a timely and organized manner. Ability to perform work according to CHOC policies and procedures, professional standards of care, and applicable laws. Demonstrate flexibility and creativity in response to unexpected changes in workload/staffing; care with sensitivity and respect.
Licensure
* Required: Basic Life Support (BLS); Registered Nurse – CA (RN).
* Preferred: Certified Pediatric Nurse.
